Race finish

It’s nearly done. 11 months, 45 000 miles, four international flights, and one laparoscopy. Tomorrow we leave Den Helder, the race starts at 2pm local time, and we should finish at Southend Friday evening.

Early Saturday morning we’ll form up and slowly make our way up the Thames.

We should draw level with HMS President by 10am. Here are the timings:

Once we get to St Katherine docks, the boats will enter the lock four at a time, in reverse order: Garmin should be entering the lock at 1210.

On current standings, we’ll be on the north side of the lock; but if we finish this short race 7 places ahead of GB we’ll be third overall and will be on the south side:

Once in, we’ll be berthing almost where we were for race start. Then we’ll make our way, boat by boat, to the stage for photos and the usual razzmatazz, and then by 2pm it will all be over… See you there!
